Broadford and the ’Bridge share the spoils

Sixmilebridge  4-1

BROADFORD and Sixmilebridge shared the spoils in their U-14 game last Thursday evening in O’Callaghan’s Mills. Broadford had the opening score with a goal from Aoife O’Brien and followed up with a second, before the ’Bridge pulled one back before the interval.

Sixmilebridge fought back to level the game in the second half. The two sides were evenly matched throughout. Broadford, with goals from Aoife O’Brien and Moya Marsh McMahon and a point from Niamh Powell, were ahead by a goal with two minutes to go.
However, the ’Bridge, with a free in the last minute of play, found the net for a share of the spoils.

Inagh-Kilnamona  5-9

Corofin  1-0

HAVING the upperhand at midfield and in the half-forward line, Inagh-Kilnamona put huge pressure on the Corofin defence and led 3-8 to 0-0 at the interval.
Corofin coped better with the Inagh-Kilnamona attack in the second half, with Brona Galvin Byrne getting their goal. However, Inagh-Kilnamona added a further 2-1 and ran out comprehensive winners.

TRUAGH-Clonlara travelled to Gurteen on Thursday last for their Round 5 game. A closely contested first half ensued, with the visitors first to score with two points from Róisín Begley.
Ciara Whelan got on the scoresheet for St Joseph’s with a point from a 45’, while Róisín Begley followed up with 1-1 before half-time.
In the second half, Truagh-Clonlara kept the pressure on with scores from Áine O’Loughlin, Laura Foley, Louise Egan and Rebecca Foley.

ÉIRE Óg suffered their first defeat in the U-14C cup when they hosted Tulla/Bodyke on Wednesday evening.
The Ennis girls put up a brave and spirited performance but the combined force of Tulla/Bodyke proved too much for them.
