Bridal image award for Bridget

ENNIS-based hairdresser Bridget Haren brought home yet another award at the weekend.
The young Clare stylist scooped the best bridal image award in the Irish Hair Photographic Awards held on Sunday.
The judges on the day decided Bridget’s stunning bridal hair style on model Clodagh O’Brien deserved the top award in the category, adding to the well-known hairdresser’s impressive haul of national and international accolades.
Clodagh’s make-up was applied by Emma Fitzgerald of Tranquility Health and Beauty, while Ernest Perryman styled for the Louise Brooks shoot.
“The bridal award is brilliant to get because of the amount of brides we do in the studio, myself and Louise. It is a great one to get because it is such a hard one to win. It has to be so particular and precise. Everything has to work together. You have to get everything right. The outfit, the hair, the make-up and the photographs, everything has to come together and has to complement the whole look. It is a real team effort,” Bridget told The Clare Champion.
Bridget’s creativity shone at the show, where she was also shortlisted in the long-hair up category. Although she won’t be competing in this year’s Alternative Hair Show, which will be held in the Royal Albert Hall in London in October, Bridget plans to travel over in support of the Irish participants, who include Limerick’s Sonia Danaher.
The Hugh Campbell Hair Group, Limerick took home the Irish Artistic Team of the Year honours, along with a Visionary Award for stylist Sonia. The hairdresser from the Melo Yelo salon in the group will represent Ireland in the Alternative Hair Show on October 16.
The artistic team, which scooped the top team award, was made up of members from all salons in the Hugh Campbell Hair Group, including Melo Yelo, The River, Cats and Marbles of Cruises Street and Castletroy.
Presenting the Artistic Team of the Year Award, Maeve O’Healy Harte, from Irish Hairdresser, said she was delighted the Hugh Campbell Hair Group Artistic Team won the award. “They put their heart and soul into the ‘Sfumato’ Collection, telling an inspiring story,” she said.
The ‘Sfumato’ Collection will be on display in Melo Yelo, Shannon Street from Wednesday, July 20 and is open to the public.
