Bodyke and Crusheen-Tubber were due to play in the semi-final of the competition on Friday, June 28 but Bodyke argued they could not play, as they didn’t have enough players to make up a team due to holidays.
Their case was that the fixtures schedule listed the final for June 14 and they had given those details to the families of their players, some of whom made holiday arrangements on the understanding that the competition would be over.
Bord na nÓg chairman Martin Reynolds told this week’s meeting that, in his opinion, the CHC was incorrect in their ruling, as the game had not taken place.
He said an objection against a fixture cannot be made until the fixture has taken place.
Bodyke delegate Kevin O’Brien told the meeting his club could not play due to holidays, as they didn’t have enough players available to make up a team.
Board secretary Sandra Reynolds confirmed she is awaiting clarification from the hearings committee on their decision.
After much discussion, it was agreed that the competition could not continue until clarification from the CHC is received.
U-13 competition
BORD na nÓg are to run the U-13 competition, formerly promoted by the Clooney-Quin club, in September.
New colours
FEAKLE-Killanena will have a new jersey this summer that combines the colours of both clubs.
