Ballyea 5-13
Kilmaley 1-13
BALLYEA were comfortable winners over neighbours Kilmaley in this league tie played at Clarecastle on Monday evening.
Despite being short the services of their top scorer Tony Kelly, they still managed to run up an impressive tally and they had the league points secured long before Seanie McMahon sounded the final whistle.
The winners led from the start and were six points ahead when the half-time whistle sounded, 1-9 to 0-6, the goal coming from corner-forward, Francie Nealon, in the 10th minute.
From the outset, Ballyea showed the greater hunger for victory and over the hour they showed the greater teamwork.

In the remaining time, Ballyea gave game time to a number of substitutes.
Jack Browne, Paul Flanagan, Cathal Doohan, Gearóid O’Connell, Niall Deasy and Stan Lineen were prominent throughout for the winners. For a disappointing Kilmaley, Martin O’Connor, Sean Talty and Conor Neylon did best.
