Another win for Lissycasey

LISSYCASEY maintained their position at the top of the Division 1 U-16 football table when they defeated Éire Óg in a lively contest at Lissycasey on Saturday.
Two first-half goals from Conor Finnucane, the first from the penalty spot, put the home side on the road to victory and they led 2-3 to 0-4 at the break.
The second half was a closer affair but Lissycasey maintained the upperhand and emerged as deserving winners. Daire Meaney made an excellent save in the second half while Brian Cahill, David Cleary and substitutes Daire Hanrahan and Padraic McNamara did well. Eimhin Courtney was the visitor’s best forward.
North Clare amalgamation Kilfenora/Michael Cusack’s/Liscannor had their first outing in the competition and recorded a three point win over Wolfe Tones.
