A year of successes remembered by Kilmurry-Ibrickane

KILMURRY-Ibrickane GAA Club held its AGM in Mullagh Hall last Sunday  with a large crowd in attendance.

Outgoing chairperson Gerard Talty, along with a large number of speakers, were loud in their praises for the senior team and management in winning the Clare senior championship and John O’Gorman Cup and bringing a second Munster club title to the parish. He also congratulated the U-16 team and their mentors on winning the county championship, while praise was also conveyed to the U-10 team on winning the Canny Cup, the national school’s team on winning the county championship and the ladies on winning the U-12, U-14 and U-16 titles.  
The chairman also acknowledged those who had organised, supported and contributed to the many different fundraising events during the year, including the lotto committee of John Joe Ryan, Josie Coughlan and John Daly.
Detailed finance reports were delivered by the club treasurer Mary T Lynch, while Josie Coughlan and John Joe Ryan reported on the lotto. Gerard Talty thanked John O’Brien from the supporters’ club, who has departed to Cyprus on a tour of duty, for his hard work and dedication down the years.  
Outgoing secretary Anne Hickey was thanked for her commitment and dedication during her tenure. 
The meeting was addressed by captain of the senior team, Enda Coughlan. He acknowledged all the club officers and committee for their help and support during the year, especially the manner in which they organised the team’s travel arrangements to Dungarvan and Ruislip. He also thanked the many dedicated supporters who travelled during the past year and contributed to the fundraising events. Enda and his team-mates received a standing ovation from all present with many messages of good luck for the All-Ireland semi-final this Sunday. 
The following officers were elected for 2010: president, Fr Tim Touhy; vice-presidents, Fr Pat Larkin and John Joe Ryan; chairperson, Gerard Talty; vice-chairperson, John Joe Ryan; secretary, Michael Considine; assistant secretary, Claire Considine; treasurer, Mary T Lynch, assistant treasurer; Josie Coughlan; registrar, Kevin Killeen; PRO, Gerard Morrissey; youth officer, Anne Hickey; Irish officer, John Daly; purchasing officer, Paul Hickey; field caretaker, Patrick Wickham; development officer, Ciarán O’Dea; county board delegates, Gerard Talty and Michael Considine.
The senior team management for 2010 will not be decided until the senior team finishes its current challenge for the All-Ireland club title; U-21 manager, Patrick McCarthy; selectors Kevin Killeen and John Hickey; intermediate manager, Frankie Frawley, selectors Kevin Coughlan, John O’Connor and Martin Keavey; Junior B player/manager, Thomas Power.

Moy prepare for 2010
THE annual general meeting of Moy Football Club was held in Moy National School and there was large turnout.
Dublin-based Joe Vaughan who has given over 40 years’ service to the club was again elected president. Chairman James Sexton congratulated all those involved with the club during 2009 when they reached the knock-out stages of the junior B championship.
Work on the construction of the clubhouse is at an advanced stage and he called for a big effort in 2010.
Secretary Tommy Garrahy congratulated all mentors and players while treasurer Paddy Vaughan gave a very detailed report and proposed that plans be set in place over the next few weeks to progress with the dressing rooms.
The next meeting will take place this Friday.
