MANUS Celtic B moved close to the Third Division title when they beat St Pat’s and West Clare United at the weekend.

They have four games remaining and victory in all four will give Manus the league title.
On Friday evening they had a 4-1 win over St Pat’s with the goals coming from Conor Plunkett (2), Anthony Griffey and Aaron Considine from the penalty spot, although St Pat’s were much closer than the final scoreline would suggest.
On Sunday, Manus defeated another of the title-chasing sides in West Clare United. The winners took a three-goal lead through Anthony Griffin, Donogh Murphy and Aaron Considine who, again, scored from the penalty spot.
West Clare hit back with goals from Jamie Russell and Tom Honan.

SHANNON Olympic started very strongly and had a few chances to open the scoring. It was a fast, exciting first half but the sides went in scoreless at half-time.
Olympic were dealt a cruel blow in the second half when two late deflected efforts from Hermitage found the net to give them a 2-0 win. The scorers for the winners were Chris O’Riordan and Brian McMahon.

Tulla United 2

ST Pat’s kept up their push for promotion from Division 3 with victory over Tulla United B on Sunday.
St Pat’s had their goals from Shane Egan (Castlepark), Stephen Moloney and Sean McNamara.
Tulla took the lead through Alan Leamy but St Pat’s equalised before the break and took the lead early in the second half. Tulla levelled through Martin Floyd going into the final quarter.
