Changes at the top at O’Curry’s Members of the O’Curry’s GAA Club attended their annual general meeting in Carrigaholt at the end of December and the re-convened AGM at the weekend. The club will have a new chairman and secretary for the new year in Michael and Brian Troy respectively. Club patron Fr Pat Culligan lamented the loss of the basic skills such as high fielding, foot passing and blocking down. He expressed his disappointment at the current state of football and warned that unless the basic principles are adhered to, the game will cease to be a spectator sport. Margaret Keane gave a breakdown of events on and off the field for the year under review and said the highlight was regaining of senior status.
