THE Clare Community Games cross country U-10 4 x 250m relays and U-13 1,200m cross country were held at a very sunny Lees Road Sports Complex on Saturday. There was great excitement among the competitors, especially those making their Community Games debut. The first five boys and five girls will make up the county team to participate in the national finals in Athlone in May. Sixteen areas were represented at the Clare finals. The girls’ U-10 relay title was won by Ennis St John’s from Silmilebridge/Kilmurry with Miltown Malbay third followed by Quin/Clooney. The boys’ title went to Ennistymon/Liscannor from Ballynacally/Lissycasey with Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry in third spot followed by Quin/Clooney. Caoimhie Hogan (Ennistymon/Liscannor) won the girls’ U-13 cross country with Ennis St John’s taking the team title.
