CULTÚRLANN Sweeney in Kilkee is celebrating its first birthday and there are a number of events taking place.

SHANNON’S independence has been celebrated by the presentation of a limited-edition print of a painting of the airport from the 1960s, by one of the region’s best-known artists, Denise Ryan.

The Merriman Short Story Competition in memory of the late Maeve Binchy has been won by Cork writer, Danielle McLaughlin.
