AN Ogonnelloe woman has urged that parents attend a new seminar to help bridge the information technology gap between adults and children.

HUNDREDS of people, almost all the children of the parish between 1967 and 2006, have been members of Kilnamona Youth Club. This weekend they will celebrate their shared experience in the Old Ground Hotel for a reunion celebrating four decades of the organisation.

Kilkenny 3-10   Clare 1-15 IT was, arguably, their best performance of the league to date but defeat was Clare’s lot in Round 4 of the National Hurling League on Sunday. In bitterly cold conditions at Cusack Park, Kilkenny’s greater experience proved crucial as the home team recorded 16 wides, a dozen of which came in the second half. The ability of the league and All-Ireland champions to score goals was a critical factor. Understandably, Clare will be disappointed with the result, given that they failed to capitalise on a number of good scoring chances but the experience gained from the game should be of great benefit as the season progresses. This result, together with the outcome of the other two games in the group, means all six teams are still in the hunt for play-off places going into this weekend’s final round, while none are safe from the relegation play-off. That fact makes last week’s result all the more disappointing …

Tipperary 1-12   Clare 0-7 WITH two Munster minor titles and one All-Ireland minor crown to their credit in the past two years, Tipperary went into Wednesday’s Munster U-21 semi-final as hot favourites, a rating they justified with a comfortable win over Clare, who struggled in a number of areas.

THE semi-finals and finals of the Boy 4 (15 years) and Youth 1 and 2 (16 and 17 years) Irish Boxing Championships will be contested in the National Stadium in Dublin this Friday and Saturday.

Clare 1-12   Carlow 0-9 WINNING is all that matters as the remaining league fixtures fly around on successive weekends. Last Sunday’s six point win in Dr Cullen Park has left Clare with a straightforward task – beat London and Limerick in Cusack Park and they’ll be playing Division 3 football in 2014.

THE decision of last weekend’s GAA congress to support the introduction of the black card system from January 1 next has been welcomed by leading Clare referee, Rory Hickey.

Galway 1-10   Clare 0-8 CLARE, despite a spirited performance, lost out to Galway in Round 2 of the All-Ireland Minor Championship in Tulla on Sunday afternoon. Having also lost their opening game to Cork, they are now out of the running for a semi-final spot.
