Ennis Civic Trust and Ennis Town Council in association with the Irish Vietnam Veterans Memorial Project are seeking to commission a memorial sculpture dedicated to Irish men and women who served in allied military service in South East Asia during the period 1959-1975, including the Vietnam War to the value of €120,000.

Killimer lexicographer featured on new DVD

KILLIMER native, Professor Michael O’Connell will launch a DVD depicting the life of lexicographer Peter O’Connell on Monday in Knockerra Hall at 8pm. The DVD was researched by Brother Seán McNamara, while the accompanying music is by Christy McNamara.

Mary’s inspiring life honoured by walk

SHARON Maguire is determined that memories of her late mother will never fade. Mary Maguire, who lived in Clarefield, west of Kilkee, died in the early hours of December 14, 2011. She had Motor Neurone Disease (MND), which was diagnosed in May 2006, having been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2003.
