Tubber 2-16   Bruff 0-10 Clare’s junior B hurling champions, Tubber, advanced to the Munster junior B final when they defeated Bruff in a very cold and windy Rathkeale on Sunday. They will now meet the winners of this week’s semi-final between Roscrea (Tipperary) and Castlemagner (Cork) in two weeks’ time in the final.

COMPETITION was intense in the University of Limerick pool for the National Stillwater Lifesaving Championships last Saturday, where Ireland’s top lifeguards guaranteed exciting competition throughout the day.

The way is clear for the semi-finals of the Fitzgibbon cup, the inter-varsity hurling championship, in Galway next Friday. hosted by GMIT, the final will be on Saturday.

Carrig na bFearr, Cork 1-13   Scariff Community College 2-9 There was heartbreak for the senior hurlers from Scariff Community College on Wednesday at Kilfinnane in Limerick when they faced Carrig na bFearr from Cork in the semi-final of Corn Mhic Ruairi, Munster Colleges Senior C Hurling Championship.

CLARE GAA County Board had a turnover of €1.5 million in 2012 with team costs accounting for 45% of that figure, outlined audit committee chairman Michael Curtin to last week’s board meeting.
