17 bouts lined up for White Collar show

The light heavyweight clash of Corofin’s Gerry Quinn, the well known hurler and Ennis man Mark Fitzgerald will top the bill in next Friday’s Clare Crusaders white collar boxing show which will have a total of 17 bouts.

“After eight weeks of commitment, training six nights per week, we are expecting some excellent contests”, according to former Irish International Ollie Markham who has been coaching the participants.
“All participants are evenly matched in weight, strength and skill,” said Markham, who also pointed out that there are four ex-boxers on the bill, Michael O’Halloran (Clooney) Jeffrey O’Sullivan (Liscannor), Tony McInerney and Tom Howard (Ennis).
There are six ladies bouts on the card and the meeting of Aoife Lynch from Ennis with Eadoin O’Mahony from Cork promises to be an exciting affair as does the clash of Clarecastle’s Niamh Keogh with Doonbeg’s Rita McInerney in the light welterweight contest.
In addition to the aforementioned light heavyweight clash of Quinn and Fitzgerald, the meeting of John Burke (Spanish Point) with Kieran Ryan (Newmarket) in the middleweight division also promises to be exciting as does the bout between Tom Howard (Ennis) and Jeffrey O’Sullivan (Liscannor) in the super heavy weight division.
