Marty all set to glide on the dance floor

BETTER known nationally for his skill behind the microphone, Marty Morrissey will show the nation his best moves from Sunday evening, when Dancing with the Stars returns to RTÉ One at 6.30pm. Locally, Marty has been spotted jovially jiving in celebration of a Kilmurry-Ibrickane championship win but, this time, the entire country will be keeping an eye on the Mullagh man. “My first dance on Sunday is the quick step. It’s very much about the frame. There are brain cells being used for the first time in 20 years, trying to remember ‘what the hell happens here’,” he laughed, when speaking to The Clare Champion this week. Aoibhín reaches for highest star

Aoibhín Garrihy and her dancer partner, Vitali Kozmin, will be aiming to shine as the brightest stars of all on this Sunday night. They are among the three couples who have made it through to the final of Dancing with the Stars, which will be screened live on RTE 1 from 6.30pm. The three finalists have spent the last few months learning to master the most intricate of footwork from award winning pro dancers. They can foxtrot, jive and cha cha cha. They can tango, salsa and rumba in their sleep. They all agree that Dancing with the Stars has been an amazing experience. But this is a competition and there can only be one winner. Expect two hours of high octane dancing, tension and drama and of course this week the winner will be chosen by public vote.
