National award for Clare firms

TWO Clare firms, TTM Healthcare based in Ennis and Tekelek Europe Ltd in Shannon, have been named among Ireland’s best-managed companies in this year’s Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme.
In total, 20 companies that demonstrated superior business performances were recognised at a gala awards dinner in Dublin at which Minister for Jobs, Richard Bruton was guest speaker.
TTM Healthcare, healthcare recruitment specialists, was established in 2002 and their corporate headquarters is in Ennis.
Ennis man Brian Crowley, CEO of TTM Healthcare, which employs a staff of 60 professionals and 800 healthcare specialists nationwide, commented, “We are delighted to have our success story acknowledged. Recognition like this has sent out a clear message, in particular to our loyal customers in Ireland and overseas. We have always had a reputation for quality, trust and ethical standards, Deloitte have helped to reinforce this.”
Peter McCarthy, CEO of Tekelek Europe Limited, said he is delighted with the award. The native of Liscannor, who is now living in Ardnacrusha, commented, “This is testament to the hard work and dedication of all our staff over the last number of years. It is a great honour to receive this award.”
Commenting on the announcement of the winners, Minister Bruton said, “If we are to achieve the levels of employment and economic growth we so badly need, we must create a powerful engine of indigenous businesses. The quality of management in Irish companies is an issue which can make a major difference to the performance of our indigenous businesses but which has not been adequately targeted by recent governments.”
An independent judging panel, chaired by Liam O’Mahony, measured company performance by looking at a broad range of criteria, including strategy, capability, commitment, financials and management performance across all key functions of the business.
Brendan Jennings, managing partner, Deloitte and judging panel member, commented, “The judging panel were extremely impressed with the innovative strategies that are being adopted by Irish management teams. From diversification strategies to a particular focus on foreign expansion and overseas markets, Irish companies are exploiting new and exciting opportunities to ensure growth in their companies.”
