In the second round of the intermediate ladies football last Monday evening Kilmurry-Ibrickane travelled to Clarecastle to take on Wolfe Tones.

It was a very hot evening but this did not deter the sides from providing an entertaining game. Within minutes Wolfe Tones were on the scoreboard with a point. Kilmurry-Ibrickane responded with a point and a goal coming from Bernie McGuire and these scores gave the West Clare side the upperhand.

Wolfe Tones scored their second point in the 16th minute by which stage Kilmurry had scored 4-5, one of the goals coming from a penalty taken by Chloe Moloney.
At the break Kilmurry-Ibrickane had 5-9 on the board to 0-3 for the Tones with scores coming from Bernie McGuire, Edel Lynch, Chloe Moloney and Ciara McCarthy.
Just under a minute into the second half, Bernie McGuire had another Kilmurry goal as they went on to record a 9-12 to 0-4 victory.
