Big Tom gone but Chambers survives for 2010 season

Aidan Moloney will be in charge of Cooraclare for the 2010 season, although the Kilmurry Ibrickane man won’t be joined this time by his former inter-county teammate Tom Morrissey.

Having won the Cusack Cup and reached the quarter-final of the senior championship, the Cooraclare AGM, which was held in mid December, reflected on a successful year.
However the new management team, which includes outgoing selectors Charlie O’Gorman and John O’Dea were re-appointed. The AGM heard that more selectors may be put in place in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile Paddy Keane, who managed Lissycasey in 2009, will serve on the Cooraclare U-21 management team for the coming season.
A number of executive positions were not filled at the AGM including county board delegate and PRO.
Outgoing secretary Seán Chambers was challenged for the position by Helen Kelly. However it was pointed out that one of the people who proposed Helen Kelly was not a club member and the nomination was subsequently withdrawn after some debate.
Chambers will fill the role of club secretary for the 10th successive year.
The following are the positions that were filled: chairman: Michael Crowe; vice-chairman, Seán Lillis; secretary, Seán Chambers; joint treasurers, Murroch O’Donoghue and Michael Kelly; county board delegate, vacant; senior management, Aidan Moloney (manager), Charlie O’Gorman and John O’Dea; U-21 management, Paddy Keane, Michael Corry and Joe Downes.
