Champions Miltown to face Clondegad

Clare senior football champions Miltown St. Josephs will play Clondegad in the quarter final of the championship.

Miltown’s predecessors as county champions, Cratloe will face Ennistymon in a quarter final tie while last year’s beaten finalists Cooraclare will face their neighbours and great rivals Doonbeg. In the remaining quarter final, Kilmurry-Ibrickane will take on Lissycasey.

The draw for the semi-finals of the senior B championship were also made and here West Clare neighbours O’Currys and St. Senans Kilkee will meet for the second time this season (Kilkee won the earlier meetin by the minimum margin) while Wolfe Tones will come up against St. Breckans

The games will take place on Saturday and Sunday week, September 10 and 11 when the semi-finals in the intermediate championship will also take place.

There is still one round of games to be played in the junior A championship in group 1 before the quarter finals can take place. Ballyvaughan play Kilmurry-Ibrickane in a game the outcome of which will determine who finishes first and second in the group. Both are already through to the quarter finals

The pairings in the junior A football championship relegation play off were also decided this evening and here Cratloe will face Kilrush with Doonbeg or Clondegad taking on Miltown St. Josephs.
