Wrestling star pops question at Clare tourist attraction

RUGBY star Eimear Considine’s Clare wedding may have grabbed the headlines last week, but romance was also in the Banner County air for another Irish athlete.
Flame-haired wrestler Sheamus gave new meaning to the term ‘King of The Ring’, by making use of the grand stage afforded by the Cliffs of Moher to propose marriage.

Four-time WWE world champion Sheamus popped the question to finacée Isabella Revilla in front of O’Brien’s Tower at the Cliffs during a week-long visit home.
Isabella revealed the night Sheamus proposed, a wedding photographer from Sligo who just happened to be at The Cliffs with his family, observed them and took the photos which she posted on Instagram.

She added in a further post, “When I was pining to go to Ireland as a young girl, I would tell people it was because ‘If magic exists, it has to be in Ireland’. Well, it does exist. Couldn’t imagine a more magical place to say YES. Couldn’t imagine a better person to spend my life with.”
While he goes by the phonetic Sheamus O’Shaunessy while kicking ass in the ring and acting on the big screen, the wrestler’s real name is Stephen Farrelly, and he visited his native Dublin over the past week, as well as Clare.

A former IT technician, Cabra native Farrelly at one time worked as security for a nightclub, which led to him occasionally working as a bodyguard for Bono and Larry Mullen, Jr. of U2.
