However West Clare Colleges, who are made of players from the secondary schools in Kilrush, Kilkee, Kilmihil and Kildysart, played significantly better on the resumption and kicked eight points.
This was these players first exposure to A Munster colleges football. It will be interesting to see if they improve significantly next year when many of these players will be eligible to play U-16½A Munster colleges football if West Clare Colleges are entered into this competition in 2011.
In an effort to improve the standard of under age football in Clare, West Clare Colleges will also compete in the Corn Uí Mhuirí Munster A colleges championship next month, when they play opposition from Killorgin and Macroom.
The U-15 team only had three training sessions which left them short of preparation against Clonmel.
Those who played well on Wednesday included Keelin Cunningham, Robbie Hall, Colin Crowley when moved to centre back, substitute Pierce Lillis, Levi Howard and Evan Garvey.
