U-21 ambassador role for Honan

THE 2011 U-21 Inter-county Hurling Championship was launched at Croke Park this week ahead of the opening game in Munster between Waterford and Tipperary next Wednesday.
Bord Gáis Energy announced that this year, with broadcast partners TG4, the championship will feature the first ever ‘player cam’ to be used in Gaelic Games television coverage.
The team of ambassadors was also announced and includes Clare’s Darach Honan, who will be joined by Noel McGrath (Tipperary), William Egan (Cork), David Burke (Galway), Dublin captain Liam Rushe, Noel Connors (Waterford) and Conor Fogarty of Kilkenny.
In addition, former Waterford hurler Ken McGrath joins Bord Gáis Energy sports sponsorship manager, Cork’s Ger Cunningham, RTÉ’s Marty Morrissey, Micheál O’Domhnaill of TG4 and U-21 All-Ireland winner, Joe Canning on the Break-through Player of the Year judging panel.
Clare, winners of the All-Ireland title in 2009, will open their challenge for honours when they take on Limerick on July 21 in the Munster semi-final.
