Tidy your attic for art’s sake

MID-West Simon Community’s Art in the Attic is heading into its final weeks of collecting for the big event. People are being urged to get a move on and clear out that attic, garage or spare room of any unwanted art works to donate to the fundraiser. The exhibition and sale will take place at the University Concert Hall on Saturday, September 15 from 2pm to 8pm.

“We here at Mid-West Simon Community are very excited about the event and already have been donated brilliant work by some very generous artists and art owners. Some of the fantastic pieces donated so far are Walt by Peter Byrne of Limerick Art Urban Stencils, Blue Venus by Gillian Chadwick Jonker, and Any way up by Stefan Barry (Stefski), alongside works by renowned artists Anna Nielsen and Eoin O Connor,” said a spokesperson for Mid-West Simon Community.

You can donate quality works of art to the Mid-West Simon Community office in Lower Shannon Street, Limerick. They greatly welcome paintings, etchings, framed photographs and prints, lithographs, sculptures, bronzes and figurines that may be stored unused in your attic, garage or spare room. In particular, they would be delighted to source one-off individual artistic creations of any genre.

The proceeds from Art in the Attic will go directly to ensuring that the work of Mid-West Simon Community in helping the homeless and those at risk of homelessness can continue.
Contact Dave on 085 2193968 or Susan on 086 1033195 to arrange to make a donation to Art in the Attic, or to make further enquiries.
