Friends appeal for help in search for Eoin

Friends and family of missing Ennis man, Eoin Madigan are appealing to people to take part in searches in Galway this weekend. Eoin is from St Michael’s Villas in the town but has been living in Galway for the last number of years. He was last seen leaving Kelly’s pub in the city on January 5. Martina Giblin, a friend and former housemate of Eoin, is appealing to people in Ennis and across the county to travel to Galway to take part in searches there this weekend. “Eoin has a heart of gold. I would appeal to people in Clare to come out and help find him,” she told The Clare Champion. “Anyone who knows him knows he would be the first person out if it was someone he knew. Safety fears for Polish man

Members of Kilkee Coastguard Unit are on standby to resume a search for a young Polish national feared drowned off the West Clare coast. Efforts to locate the 34 year-old, who was living in the Killaloe area, have proven unsuccessful, despite the best efforts of Kilkee Coastguard and the Shannon-based rescue helicopter. Adverse weather conditions prevented the resumption the search on Monday morning and local marine volunteers need an improvement before they can return to their difficult task. People are advised to stay away from any exposed area along the West Clare coastline, particularly during periods of strong gales, which are forecast this week. The alarm was raised in the early hours of Saturday morning when the man’s car was located in the car park at the Loop Head lighthouse. The Irish Coast Guard’s marine rescue coordination centre at Valentia in Co Kerry was alerted amid fears for the man’s safety. At around 4.30am, the Kilkee unit of the Coast …

Efforts being made to get in touch with missing Scariff man

IT’S understood that a Scariff man who went missing in London last week is alive, but efforts are still being made to get in touch with him. Brief contact was made with him by phone late on Tuesday night, but police and relatives are still continuing the search. John Dowdall was last seen at 5pm on Thursday of last week at the Crown Moran Hotel in Cricklewood, London. He had been a guest at the hotel since July 31 but failed to return on Thursday, leaving all his belongings and valuables behind. John is 5ft 7ins tall and of large stocky build. He has diabetes but left his medication for it at the hotel. On Sunday, a relative was told by a police source that John had been found and was in good health but this proved to be a mistake on the police’s side.
