ESB fighting power outages in west and north Clare

THE ESB are currently battling three power outages in the Miltown Malbay area, all of which they hope to have resolved before midnight. They say that one is affecting 1315 customers, another 1027 and the third affecting 164 of their customers. There are also a number of outages in the Kilrush area, one affecting 107 customers, with three others affecting 43, 33 and 18 customers respectively. While a number of outages in the Kilkee area have been fixed, four more still have to be resolved, and it is expected some of the customers there won’t have their power back until tomorrow afternoon.

It’s time to get deal done – Breen

Former Clare TD James Breen has thrown down the gauntlet to Fianna Fail leader, Michael Martin to put the people before power and get a new government in situ. “It’s time for the talking to stop and to get a deal done. We need political stability and a new government, not a caretaker one running the country. We need to get the country back on its feet and our workforce back to work. We need Michael Martin to put people before power,” he declared.
