Walk-in Clinics Continue For Covid-19 Vaccination

  Walk-in vaccination clinics for adults, and children aged 12 and over, are being held in Mid-West Covid-19 Vaccination Centres over the weekend. The clinics will be held in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, this Saturday, and in the vaccination centres at Limerick Racecourse and the West County Hotel, Ennis, on Sunday. These local clinics form part of the nationwide effort to maximise uptake for Pfizer Dose 1&2, and to ease access for those people who have received AstraZeneca Dose 1 and who now, as per national guidance, can receive the Pfizer vaccine as their second dose. Clare people can receive this Pfizer Dose 1 and 2 in the Nenagh Abbey Court Hotel on Saturday from 9am to 6pm. On Saturday, there will be a walk-in clinic in Limerick Racecourse for those wishing to receive Prizer 1 and 2 between 9am and 6pm. The Mid-West Covid-19 Vaccination Centres will operate in Limerick, Ennis and Nenagh over the weekend.   UNVACCINATED Clare people can get a Covid-19 vaccine in another series of scheduled walk-in vaccination clinis in the Mid-West over the coming days.   Clinics for Pfizer/BioNtech Dose 1 and 2, and second doses only of Moderna, have been scheduled across the centres this weekend. Doctors’ Group Welcome “Historic” Community-Based Vaccination

THE start of community-based Covid-19 vaccination for elderly people in Clare who are 85 and older has been described as “historic” by a doctors’ group. The Irish College of General Practitioners, the professional and training body for General Practitioners in Ireland, has welcomed the start of the next phase in the country’s Covid-19 vaccination programme, as GP-led clinics and GP practices begin the process of vaccinating their over 70’s patients around the county. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be administered by 70% of GPs and practice nurses in their own premises. Practices with less than 200 patients over 70 will either buddy with a nearby practice or invite their patients to vaccination centres. Patients will be contacted directly for appointments by their own GPs.
