Unchanged Clare to face Cork

An unchanged team from that which lined out against limerick two weeks ago has been named by the Clare senior hurling management for Sunday’s Munster senior hurling final clash with Cork at Semple stadium in Thurles throw in at 2p.m.) Seadna Morey has recovered from the leg injury which forced him out of the win over Limerick in the early stages of that game and he will line out at wing back. Morey sparkles in Clare victory

Clare 2-19 Waterford 3-9 A player of the match performance from Chloe Morey led Clare to a merited win over Waterford in round two of the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland senior camogie championship at sun drenched Cusack park this afternoon. While wearing the favourites tag, Clare did not get things all their own way in this tie and struggled to contain the visitors for much of the first half at  the end of which the visitors held a two point advantage, 2-5 to 0-9. Five minutes into the new half Clare had drawn level and a minute later went in front when Morey landed the first of six from play in that second period. At the three quarter stage Clare led on a scoreline of 0-15 to 2-7 and it was still anybody’s game. Clare bow out of Munster title race

Cork 1-15 Clare 0-6 Cork progressed to the Munster senior camogie final when they accounted for Clare at rain lashed Sixmilebridge on Sunday afternoon but the final scoreline is somewhat flattering to the visitors. Just a point separated the teams at the three quarter stage when the score was 0-7 to 0-6 in Cork’s favour. Then Katriona Mackey struck for the game’s only goal, a somewhat fortunate score and from here on the visitors dominated adding 0-8 without reply from Clare. Conditions were atrocious for this tie with players having to contend with heavy rainfall throughout. Despite the rain, the pitch was in a remarkably good condition and there was some high standard camogie played. Clare went into the game without a number of experienced regulars due to a variety of reasons. These included Fiona Lafferty, Eimear Considine, Niamh O’Dea and Naoimi Carroll and they were further weakened by the unavailability of All star Maire McGrath due to work commitments …
