Judge requests Gardaí to bring pregnant woman for hospital scan en route to escorting mother of five to jail

A judge has asked Gardaí to bring a pregnant woman to a maternity hospital for a scheduled pregnancy scan en route to escorting the mother of five to Limerick prison. At Ennis District Court, Judge Patrick Durcan admitted that the court request to Gardaí concerning Annie Joyce’s (30) pregnancy scan “is very unusual”. Judge Durcan asked that the maternity hospital in Limerick be advised of the situation and that Ms Joyce can be brought there securely by Gardaí. Judge Durcan said, “I appreciate that there are additional pressures with Covid-19” and in response to Judge Durcan’s request, Sgt Louis Moloney told the judge: “We will do our best.” Judge Durcan made his request after solicitor for Ms Joyce (30) of St Enda’s, Beechpark, Ennis, Tara Godfrey alerted the judge that her client is pregnant and was due to have a medical scan at midday on Thursday at the maternity hospital in Limerick. Clare man charged with posession of child porn

A 41-year old Clare man has appeared in court charged with the illegal possession of 7,606 images and 139 video files of child pornography. At Ennis District Court on Wednesday, Detective Sergeant Dara O’Sullivan gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution of the man and the accused made no reply when charged. The man faces a charge that on September 4, 2013 he knowingly distributing child pornography for the purpose of distribution, publication and exportation contrary to Section 5(1) of the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act 1998. The man is also accused of knowingly having in his possession the 7,606 child porn images and 139 video files at a Clare address on the same date contrary to Section 6 (1) of the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act 1998. Ralph Lauren’s Niece Fined €2,000

THE niece of fashion designer Ralph Lauren, Jennifer Lauren has been fined €2,000 for being intoxicated  on board a Delta Airlines flight from Barcelona to JFK on Monday, where she frightened and upset passengers and crew. The 41-year-old, who has an address at 210 East 65th Street, New York was on board a flight that was diverted to Shannon on Monday, was charged with three counts under the Air Navigation and Transport Act 1973. She appeared before Killaloe District Court on Tuesday charged with being intoxicated to such an extent that she would endanger herself or others on board a Delta Airlines flight on the previous day. She was also charged with engaging in behaviour likely to cause serious offence or annoyance to those on board the flight, having been requested by a crew members to cease this behaviour. She was  further charged with engaging in behaviour of a threatening, abusive or insulting nature on the aircraft. The case was …
