Drugs seized in Ennistymon

Gardaí seized €7,200 of suspected drugs in Ennistymon on Wednesday. As part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in Ennistymon, Gardaí executed a search warrant at a house on the outskirts of Ennistymon Town. Gardaí from Ennistymon and Kilrush Garda Stations carried out the search at around 5pm. During the course of the search Gardaí seized €6,000 of suspected cannabis herb and €1,200 of suspected cocaine. All of the suspected drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis. Ennis mum and baby found safe and well

A YOUNG woman missing from Ennis has been located safe and well by Gardaí, along with her baby daughter. 16-year-old Larisa Rostas and her ten-month-old daughter Narcisa had been missing for a number of weeks. Gardaí confirmed this evening that both have been found, safe and well. The force has thanked Gardaí and the media for their help.

Information sought on aggravated burglary in Kilmurry

GARDAI are appealing to the public for information in relation to an aggravated burglary that occurred at a house in Drumullen, Kilmurry, Sixmilebridge, last Sunday. At approximately 4.30pm, three men armed with what is believed to be a knife and an iron bar, entered the house and tied up three of the occupants. One occupant of the house was assaulted during the incident. A number of personal items were taken from the property. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to this incident to come forward. They are also appealing to anyone who was in the area of Drumullen, Kilmurry, between 4.00pm and 5.15pm on 14th March 2021, to contact them. Any road users who were in the area at this time and who may have camera (including dash cam) footage is asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí. Gardaí appeal for public assistance to locate missing Ennis teenager and baby

GARDAÍ are appealing to the public for their assistance in locating 16-year-old Larisa Maria Rostas, and her daughter Narcisa Rosta (10 months) who are missing from their home in Ennis. Larisa and Narcisa were last seen on Sunday morning, March 7. Larisa is 5’ 2” in height with dyed red hair and brown eyes. It is not known what Larisa or Narcisa were wearing at the time they went missing. Larisa is known to frequent the Dublin city centre area as well as her hometown of Ennis. Both Gardaí and Larisa’s family are concerned for her wellbeing. Anyone with information in relation to her whereabouts or who can assist Gardaí in locating Larisa and Narcisa are asked to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 684 8100, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Two men arrested in connection with Sixmilebridge shooting incident

GARDAÍ at Shannon investigating the shooting incident in Sixmilebridge village on Saturday, January 18, 2020, when two men suffered gunshot wounds have arrested two men in relation to their investigation. The incident occurred on Pound Street in the village during the Shannonside Music Festival. Two men, one aged 21, and the other a 66-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds during the incident. One man (20s) was arrest in Dublin on Thursday, February 25 and is being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at Shannon Garda station. The second man (20s), was arrested in Limerick yesterday morning, Saturday, February 27,  and is being detained under Section 42 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1999 at Ennis Garda station. This brings to six the number of people arrested as part of this investigation. Gardaí say their Investigations are ongoing.

Woman remains in ‘unconscious state’ in hospital following alleged assault

A WOMAN allegedly assaulted in Ennis town centre on Thursday evening remains in an “unconscious state” in hospital, a court has heard. Details of the woman’s condition were outlined at a special sitting of Ennis District Court today (January 30), during the appearance of the man accused of her assault. Patrick Ballard (34), with an address at Ashford Court Hotel, Ennis, is charged with assault causing harm to his then girlfriend Sharon Bennett at Garranakilla, the Market, Ennis, on January 28, 2021. The alleged offence is contrary to Section 3 of the Non Fatal Offences Against The Person Act. At today’s court sitting, Detective Garda Noelle Bergin of Ennis Garda Station gave evidence of the arrest, charge and caution of Mr Ballard. She told the court that in reply to the charge after caution, the accused said, “I’m sorry for what happened.” Solicitor Tara Godfrey was assigned legal aid to represent the accused. Clare Gardaí warn homeowners to protect their fuel supplies

HOMEOWNERS are being warned to take precautions to ensure they are not victims of fuel theft during this cold spell. This comes after men were disturbed while trying to steal diesel from a tank at a farmyard in Liscannor earlier this month. At 11.55pm on Friday, January 22 a man disturbed two others in his farmyard at Ardacra, Liscannor. “When they left he found a hose and the nozzle of his diesel tank on the ground which would indicate that they were going to syphon the diesel from the tank. Weather is very cold at the moment and home owners are ordering their home heating oil,” said Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Triona Brooks. She has issued advice to householders who wish to protect their fuel supply. “Place the tank as close to the house as regulations allow and in view of one or more windows. Try and ensure that the tank is not visible from the road to passing traffic,” …
