St John Bosco win County A title overcoming Coláiste Mhuire

Clare Post Primary first year A ladies football final St John Bosco Community College 5-13 Coláiste Mhuire 2-6 It was very much a case in Lees Road on Tuesday morning witnessing a possible new force emerging in post primary ladies football with the Fergus Rovers powered St John Bosco proving too strong for Coláiste Mhuire in the A first year final. Backing up the strong Fergus Rovers influence are girls from Kildysart and Cuil Gaels to ensure as they progress up the age level they will be strong in upcoming competitions. Coláiste Mhuire were under no illusions of the task in hand especially when Aoibhin Keane, daughter of former Clare star Ger had (1-1) in the Coláiste net with less than two minutes played. Colaiste Mhuire Student Chops Her Locks For Charity

A COLAISTE Mhuire student is thrilled with the “phenomenal” support she has received for a recent fundraising event for two charities. Holly Cotter (17), Doora, Clarecastle who is completing Leaving Certificate Applied in Colaiste Mhuire, has raised more than €3,650 from cutting her long red precious locks and will continue accepting donations for another two weeks. Having set up an iDonate page, all the proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to Clare Crusaders. Her father, Seamus described the support to date as “phenomenal”. He said the Clare Crusaders are relying on this fundraiser and a new draw with Munster Tech, O’Connell Street, to win a golden ticket for a PS5 playstation, which was won by Nathan O’Shea. “Holly is delighted with her new hairstyle, everyone is admiring it. Lauren and class-mates show generous heart for Crumlin

Born with a heart condition, a young Ballyea woman has spent the past 16 years travelling to Crumlin Children’s Hospital. This year, after having what she hopes will be her final heart surgery, Lauren Coote decided to raise money for the heart centre at the hospital, in recognition of the care she received there. Lauren has just completed her Junior Certificate at Coláiste Muire in Ennis. Before her exams, she and her classmates in C3 organised a no-uniform day and raised €1,335, which she delivered at a recent check-up in the hospital. “We held the no-uniform day in the last week before school ended. We involved the school because we wanted to raise as much money as possible. I brought the idea to the principal and then all the class helped out, counting the money and letting people know about it,” Lauren outlined. “The reason we did this is because I have been going to Crumlin all my life since …
