St Flannan’s reach two Munster finals

St Flannan’s qualified for two Munster Colleges finals last Thursday. The U-15 footballers will play Dingle in the Corn Uí Mhorain A final when they overcame the challenge of Clonmel while at the same time in Charleville, their junior A hurlers reached the Dean Ryan final when they proved much too strong for St Colman’s, winning on a scoreline of 3-9 to 0-2.

The Dean Ryan final is scheduled for next Wednesday at Cashel while the U-15 football final will be played a day later with Drumcollogher a likely venue.

St Flannan’s qualified for the Munster Colleges U-15A football final (Corn Uí Mhorain) when they overcame the challenge of Clonmel at Ballybrickan in Limerick on Thursday.
Following a very impressive first round win over St Brendan’s, Killarney, (1-15 to 0-8), the Clare side went into the semi-final as favourites.
They went behind early in the game when Clonmel had the opening score but when the half-time whistle sounded, St Flannan’s were a goal in front, 1-3 to 0-3, the goal coming from their captain, Eimhin Courtney.
A goal from Martin Darcy in the second half sealed a merited win for St Flannan’s, who will now play Dingle in the final next week.

St Flannan’s will play De La Salle from Waterford in the final of the Dean Ryan Cup, junior A hurling championship, following a big win over St Colman’s at Charleville.
The Ennis side dominated from the start and led 2-7 to 0-2 at half-time. Full-forward Shane O’Donnell scored two goals for the winners, with Bobby Duggan getting the team’s other goal while Dylan Casey contributed 0-5.
