Seniors take on Galway in first game of 2010

NEWLY-appointed Clare senior camogie manager, Patsy Fahy, will have his first competitive outing with the team on February 28 when they take on neighbours Galway in the opening round of Division 1 of the National League.

There are reports this week that Galway will have last year’s Clare boss, Bertie Sherlock at the helm this season. Clare’s other league ties will be against Dublin on March 6 and against Wexford on March 14.
In the All-Ireland senior championship, Dublin will be Clare’s first opponents on June 12 and they will follow this with games against Tipperary on June 26, against Wexford on July 3, against Galway on July 10, against Kilkenny on July 17 and against Cork on July 24.
The All-Ireland semi-finals are set for August 15 with the final scheduled for September 12.

A boost for Clare
Cratloe native Naomi Carroll is expected line out for Clare for the 2010 season. In recent years Naomi has been playing club camogie with Na Piarsaigh in Limerick and she has also played inter-county competition for Limerick. Naomi who is still eligible for the U-18 grade, has submitted a transfer request to Sixmilebridge.
Maire McGrath, also from Cratloe, has also applied to transfer from Na Piarsaigh to Sixmilebridge. Maire has played for Clare for the past two years.

Kilkishen Camogie Club

Kilkishen Camogie Club are hosting an Anne Murnane Henry Memorial Camogie tournament on February 6 in Hamilton Park in Kilkishen at 12 noon.
All clubs are being invited to take part in the seven-a-side competition. All profits from the day will go to Milford Hospice.

Tara seven-a-side
The Tara Camogie Club. In London will hold their fourth seven-a-side camogie tournament on Saturday April 10, at Tír Chonaill Park, Greenford.
The tournament will have plate and cup competitions at both junior and senior grades and is seven-a-side with three substitutes allowed. Games start at 10am on Saturday morning with presentation and evening entertainment afterwards in the clubhouse.
