Born in Tyrone, Pat McHugh grew up in Belfast but spent many years in Clare and played with Michael’s son in the Clare Celts. He was also well known for busking across the road from Jimmy Brohan’s shop in Ennis.

Michael said he was grateful to those who assisted him in getting the piece in place.
Well-known pieces completed by Michael in the past include Charles Haughey’s headstone and a piece on fiddle player Sean McGuire.
