Bridge United B 0
Shannon Olympic A 3

Shannon Olympic A extended their lead at the top of the First Division League with a convincing 3-0 victory away to Bridge United B on St Patrick’s Day.
Played in perfect conditions, the away side got off to a great start and took the lead after only 10 minutes when Wayne Regan tapped home from close range after clever play between Mick O’Connell, Jason Regan and Karl Scott.
Olympic created several chances to increase the lead with the Regan brothers, Jason and Wayne, Karl Scott and Donncadh Kelly all going close.
Olympic started the second half as they had started the first and after just three minutes, they were rewarded with a second goal when Jason Regan attacked on the left-hand side and some clever interplay between himself and center-forward, Karl Scott, allowed Scott to run clear and finish well.
In the 53rd minute the lead increased to 3-0 when Ray Quigley started an attack in his own half by playing a long pass to Jason Regan who played another pass into space for Quigley, who had continued his run.
The midfielder got some luck when the Bridge defender failed to deal with the ball and Quigley ran clear, around the ‘keeper and finished to the net.
The Bridge did create a couple of chances in the second half when Barry Downes and Paul Corbett both shot over, but in truth, Olympic were never in any danger.
Best for Olympic on the day were ever-impressive captain, Jason Regan, Karl Scott and young midfielder, Ray Quigley.
