The defending Clare Senior Football champions have appointed a new manager.

Former Clare selector David O’Brien takes over his native club from Michael Neylon.

It’s his second stint in charge of the west Clare club, having guided them to the 2013 intermediate title before reaching the SFC Quarter Finals 12 months later.

Kerry’s David Geaney will continue as coach with the rest of the backroom team to be finalized in the next week.

Club chairman Frank Minogue has welcomed the news, saying he was their number one candidate for the role and they’re delighted to have him on board.
