Newmarket on top in goal-heavy encounter

Newmarket Celtic B made the journey to Ruan on Sunday for this second division game and they returned with the points following a hard earned 3-2 win.

Newmarket led at half time thanks to a goal from Danny Conway.  Ruan got a great start to the second half when Gavin Dinan scored and soon after this they went in front through Jonathon Clohessy. Inside the last fifteen minutes Newmarket hit back, helped by some defensive errors on the part of the home side, and Martin Mulqueen struck twice to ensure that the visitors went away with the points.

Manus Celtic led at half time in this tie thanks to a strike from Mickey McDonagh.
In the second half Kildysart stepped up a gear and two goals from Gerry Finn ensured that they returned home with the points leaving Manus Celtic A with their first loss of this campaign.

Paul Johnston had just put the home side into the lead when Johnnie O’Brien was dismissed. The decision caused some anger and eventually the match official called a halt to proceedings.
