Newmarket B hang on for victory

Newmarket Celtic B 3
Inch Crusaders 2

Newmarket Celtic B took a two-goal lead in this Second Division tie at McDonough Park with goals from Barry O’Driscoll and Darren Sheedy.

Inch Crusaders, who had enjoyed the upper hand in the opening quarter, pulled one back before the break through Brian McDonnell. Early in the second half, the visitors levelled with a goal from Brendan Talty, who finished a John Clohessy cross to the net.
Inch were now dictating matters but the home side struck for the winner from Barry O’Driscoll, against the run of play.
Inch hit the post on 85 minutes with a shot from Clohessy and had penalty claims waved away in the last minute as the home side hung on for their first victory of the campaign.
