Morgan on senior inter-provincial squash duty

Clive Morgan will travel to Ballyearl next weekend to play in the Senior Inter-Provincial Squash Championships with Munster.
Morgan had an impressive win in the Munster close earlier this year and also had good performances in national events that won him a place on the Munster team.
On the international scene, Michael Conlon has secured a position on the Irish Masters team in the upcoming home internationals in April. After a poor start to the season, Conlon had good results in the last three competitions and a fourth place finish in the Irish Open secured the points necessary to make the team. Another member of the international team is Kyron Hurley, who was a very active member of Clare squash in the early years. Hurley now plays his squash out of the Curragh Squash Club in Kildare. Conlon will also be on the Munster masters team that will defend their inter-provincial title in Dublin on the weekend of April 8-10.
On the club front, another successful blitz tournament took place on March 15 at Ennis CBS. A high standard of squash was played on the night when Will Morgan’s team of Jackie Hynes, Colum Flanagan and Darren O’Byrne took the honours, just pipping Martin Sexton’s team of Larry Donnellan, Darren Pilkington and Eoin McMahon by two points.
The final series of the club leagues is underway and is scheduled to finish on Sunday. The leagues were a great success again this year, with over 60 participants. The leagues will recommence on September 5.
