GARDAI have notified this week of more people in Clare falling victim of fraud despite not interacting with scammers or losing their bank cards.
A male reported that between April 25 and June 2, suspicious transactions appeared on his bank account. There were seven transactions in total.
The bank card was in the possession of injured party and he did not respond to any suspicious texts or phone calls.
On June 1, a female reported that she had noticed two transactions debited from her current account. Both transactions were from an online store.
The victim had her card in her possession and has not shopped with this online store recently.
Investigations are ongoing and members of the public are reminded to be vigilant in monitoring of their banking transactions and do not click on any links in text messages or emails.
