THE international show, The Rhythms of Ireland, comes to the Glór stage next week.

Ennis dancing entrepreneur Michael Donnellan brings his production, which has been touring the international stage since 2007, to his home turf from April 25 to 27. It features a host of stellar performers, who boast world championship dance titles and lead performances in shows such as Lord of the Dance and Riverdance. The production has been successful on tour in Australia, Asia and Europe.

This is the first time anything that Michael has produced is coming to Ennis and he is looking forward to seeing how the local audience receive it.

The show features up to 20 dancers, singers and musicians offering everything from 100-mile-an-hour showstoppers to flamenco, sean nós, céilí dancing, Irish step and set dancing. Michael himself will also perform for a couple of numbers.

As well as featuring Michael, The Rhythms of Ireland, features Anthony Street, lead male dancer of Lord Of The Dance; Deirdra Kiely, a 23 year old champion dancer from Waterford, who was the female lead in RAGUS. It also includes a cast of 14 dancers with extensive experience with major Irish international productions thus ensuring a standard of excellence and quality in performance.

Music direction is provided by all-Irish champion Martin O’Connell and Thomas Johnston, an uilleann piper and whistle player from a strong piping tradition in County Monaghan. They will be accompanied by live musicians Lisa Murphy from Belfast and the multi-talented Irish musician David Delaney.
