Lifford raise their game to beat Avenue

After a slow start to the season, Lifford stepped up considerably and scored an impressive win over great rivals Avenue United in the Premier League on Sunday.
The win came a week after they scored a convincing victory over Tulla United.
The winning goal came early in the second half when TJ Ajisomo headed home from a Fabrice Baptista corner.
The winners took the lead from the penalty spot when Coolmeen gaelic footballer, Ciaran Neenan converted after Lunga Ballman was fouled.
Avenue levelled through Gary Flynn. Lifford went back in front when Balman scored after good work by Ruairi Norrby.
Avenue again hit back and Sean O’Meara levelled leaving the sides locked together at 2-2 at the interval.
In the closing stages of the game, Avenue piled on the pressure in search of an equaliser but Jan De Silva in the Lifford goal produced a few good saves to deny them.

Hermitage A continued their good form when they proved too strong for Bridge United A in this league tie on Sunday at Sixmilebridge.
Robbie Downes gave the visitors the lead, which was quickly doubled when Ger Dullaghan struck. the winners led by these goals at half time.
Paul Dullaghan stretched their lead in the second half before Scott Hennessy struck for goal number four.

A goal from Stephen Kelly with 15 minutes to go decided this tie at Bunratty on Sunday.
At the time, the winners were down to 10 men after Patsy Keyes had been sent off shortly beforehand.
Bunratty had a chance to take the lead early in the second half when they were awarded a penalty but Jason Casey in the Rineanna goal saved well from Shane O’Connor.
Bunratty also finished with 10 men after Daithi O’Connell was sent off in the closing stages.
