THE Cumann na mBunscoil indoor hurling and camogie finals were held at Cratloe GAA hall last week, where Kilnamona and Ennis National were crowned camogie and hurling champions respectively.

Kilnamona National School  10    Clonlara National School   0
KILNAMONA had a comprehensive victory in the Cumann na mBunscoil indoor camogie final for girls up to fifth class. The winners stormed into the game in the first half and built up a commanding lead of five goals by half-time, thanks to goals from Chloe McNamara (two), Michelle Mescall and Chloe O’Neill.
Clonlara, who hadn’t been in the final for a number of years, upped their performance but found it difficult to break down a resolute Kilnamona defence. Kilnamona rallied again and added some more scores to put the game beyond Clonlara’s reach.
Kilnamona: Róisín Clancy, Laoise Ryan, Michaela Roughan, Chloe McNamara, Chloe O’Neill, Áine Kearins, Siobháin Warren, Alanna O’Keeffe, Muireann Long, Michelle Mescall, Caitlán McInerney, Kate Hehir.

THE hurling final, which is for boys up to fourth class, was in the melting pot almost to the final whistle. Exchanges were hard in the first half and scores were difficult to secure. By half-time, Ennis National School had a well-deserved lead of 3-0, courtesy of opportunistic strikes from Elias Kunz (2) and Seán Meere (1).
Quin National School, contesting the final for the first time, struck for a goal straight after the resumption but Ennis replied with a like score immediately. Quin peppered the opponent’s goal and scored twice again but couldn’t close the gap built up in the first half.
Ennis: Darren O’Brien, Seán Meere, Elias Kunz, Caldwell Rynne, Gerard Kavanagh, James Nugent, Frank Roche, Liam Wall, Bruce Pigott, Seán Dolan.
Scorers: Elias Kunz (4), Seán Meere (1) and James Nugent (1).
Quin: Adam Deegan, David Barbotin, Eoghan O’Brien, Colin Liddy, Ulich O’Sullivan, Oisín Egan, Eoin Beirne, Alex McConway, Anthony O’Donnell, Paul Hogan, Cian Wall, Cormac Browne, Jack Duggan, Christian McNamara.
