Host of Collaborations on new album

CLARE accordion maestro Sharon Shannon has released her new album, Collaborations.

The album features 15 tracks with 15 different guests on vocals and showcases Sharon’s extraordinary range and diversity of styles.
It features five brand new tracks, two remixes and eight of her previously recorded material, including the original version of The Galway Girl, recorded in 1999 with Steve Earle on vocals.
Other artists on the album include Pogue frontman, Shane MacGowan, former Rev leader Rory Gallagher, former You’re a Star winner, Lucia Evans, singer Eleanor Shanley and Aoife O’Donovan from US band Crooked Still on backing vocals.
The new version of the 1960s hit Muirsheen Durkin with the legendary Johnny McEvoy on vocals, shows that Sharon’s recording experience many years back with reggae producer Dennis Bovel has not been forgotten and also shows her ability as a producer, arranger and writer. Sharon will play at the West County Hotel, Ennis on December 28.
