Have wheels, will travel

The four-legged friends were barking up the right tree when it came to raising money for the Clare ISPCA by taking part in the Doggy Day Care Clare 5k walk.
The walk started from Doggy Day Care in Ballymaley Business Park, with dogs and their owners invited to come along and join in the fun.
After the walk there was still plenty to see and do, with a barbecue, face painting, mini market and competitions including best photo, dog with waggiest tale and others.
According to Darren O’Connor of Doggy Day Care, “It was a brilliant day, we had a great turnout and the weather really helped us. There were dogs of all shapes and sizes, all breeds, even a collie on wheels, Mollie from Whitegate, and the dogs that took part were given a voucher for a free exercise hour here.
“We are still waiting for the final tally to see how much has been raised for Clare SPCA but we are thrilled with how it went.
“We held this event last year and we are hoping to make it an annual occasion.”
Frankie Coote of Clare SPCA expressed his gratitude to all of those who took part in the walk in aid of the local charity.
“I would like to thank everybody for taking part in the walk, which was very successful,” he said.
