Gearing up for Clonlara production

Preparations are in full swing for an eagerly-awaited Christmas extravaganza in South-East Clare this Tuesday and Wednesday night in the Clonlara Sports Complex at 7.30pm.

Underdog Theatre Group is hoping to raise thousands of euro for two local causes, Clonlara Community Centre and Clonlara National School, with their production of Clondog Millionaire: A Christmas Extravaganza.
Written, directed, produced and performed by Clonlara residents, this original production is “a Christmas show, variety show, musical-comedy, quiz show and romance all rolled into one” according to group founding member, Ronan O’Boyle.
Ronan, who has extensive experience in film production, particularly short films, wrote and directs the show, which is based on the hit film, Slumdog Millionaire, but with some updates to give it a very Irish flavour.
There will also be a multimedia presentation with live actors, as well as musicians and dancers.
For tickets or further information, call Jen at 085 7266830, Jill at 087 9450179 or Pat at 087 6624109.
