Irish model Glenda Gilson and her Xposé colleague Lisa Cannon are just two of the big names confirmed for this year’s Ennis Fashion Week, which is taking place later this month.
Among the highlights of the week will be its Afternoon of Fashion, taking place on Sunday, October 18, at the Temple Gate Hotel from 4pm to 6pm.
The event, which was one of the most popular ingredients of last year’s Fashion Week, comprises a fashion show for all the family, featuring a selection of ladies and children’s fashion and accessories.
A number of Ennis businesses are involved in the event with models provided by Martina Costelloe, make-up by staff from Rochford’s Pharmacies and hair styled by Monument Hair and Beauty.
Boutiques Alibi, An Binsin Luacra, Bambinos, Bermay, Carraig Donn, Chez Marie, County Boutique, OTT, Kymari and Willow will all show pieces from their ranges.
The event also includes stands from participating stores offering some very tempting bargains, including Aveda C Spa, Nozomi Shoe Boutique, Specsavers Opticians, Ireland’s Eye and Sunkiss.
Organisers of the Afternoon of Fashion, Tess Purcell and Maeve Culligan are looking forward to “an afternoon when the whole family can share a couple of hours of style and fun”.
Music on the day will be provided by Kate Purcell and Deborah Wallis and for children, there is Hollywood entertainment, including a movie.
Tickets are available at County Boutique on O’Connell Street and Bambinos on Parnell Street. The proceeds of the event will go to Cahercalla Hospice.
As well as the Afternoon of Fashion, the week will also be marked by a series of other events including a free fashion lecture in the deValera Library, a health and wellbeing seminar, dress-up Saturday and the hugely popular Ennis Fashion Week Style and Glamour Awards.
