Aaron Fitzgerald has joined up with the Clare senior hurlers for the 2021 season, and will not feature with the football squad next year.

The Eire Óg dual club star had an eye catching campaign for the Townies in this year’s club championship and was one of the standout performers as they went all the way to the last four before being narrowly beaten by eventual champions Sixmilebridge.

It is understood Fitzgerald has now linked up with Brian Lohan’s squad for the coming year, having missed out on much of 2020 as he recovered from a knee injury.

He made his return in the Autumn as he lined out in Clare’s final two National League games but did not feature in the Banner’s championship loss to Tipperary.
