Ennis Women’s Shed steps up to help displaced Ukrainians

MNÁ Ag Gaire (MAGs) Women’s Shed has confirmed that, with support from the Clare County Council and Haven Horizons, it will now be providing activities to help the displaced Ukrainians living in Ennis.

MAGs will be partnering with Clare Immigration Support Centre; Limerick-Clare Education and Training Board and other volunteers in creating this new enterprise, the Ukrainian Community Hub.

Existing services by these agencies and MAGs will continue alongside of this new project for Ukrainians.

A spokesperson for MAGs explains that activities will include; assistance with immigration issues; members of Ukrainian community to meet; English classes; providing a place for the displaced to meet, converse, etc; Ukrainian women setting up a shop for needed items such as necessities, etc and other skill share programmes in conjunction with Clare Haven.

“The need to meet the Ukrainian emergency is great. Our facility for MAGs offers many opportunities to meet those needs.

“In concert with the Clare Immigration Support Centre, Haven Horizons and the Clare County Council, we are pleased to open our doors.

“In addition, the LCETB will offer English classes and we will offer a skill share programme for all woman in Ennis.

“Please come and join us for our coffee hour mornings, Tuesday and Thursdays 10.30am to 12.30am if you are interested in volunteering with us,” the spokesperson added.

Eventually, other potential activities include crafts, sewing, yoga classes, life-coaching, writing, public speaking, meditation and others.

MAGs is open to others who may want to conduct classes, workshops, etc. The facility is located at Unit 7, Tracklands Business Park, Ennis.

Жіноча Організація Mna Ag Agaire (MAGs), за підтримки Ради Графства Клер та організація Haven Horizons віднині буде надавати допомогу українцям, які були змушені залишити свої домівки та тимчасово проживають у м. Еніс (Ennis). Для цього MAGs розпочинає свою співпрацю з наступними організаціями:
• Імміграційний центр підтримки у графстві Клер / Clare Immigration Support Centre
• Рада з навчання та технічної підготовки у м. Лімерик графство Клер / Limerick-Clare Education and Training Board
• Та інші волонтери
Всі послуги, які на даному етапі надаються нашими партнерами та MAGs, будуть також доступні у рамках нашого проекту для українців.
Послуги в себе включать:
• Допомога у ряді імміграційних питань
• Зустріч з представниками української громади
• Курси англійської мови
• Надання місця для зустрічей, розмов та іншого для українців, які змушені були тимчасово залишити свої домівки
• Відкриття магазину, де українці зможуть безкоштовно знайти необхідні речі
• Інші програми для обміну досвідом у рамках співпраці з організацією Clare Haven
А також такі види діяльності як рукоділля, шиття, заняття йогою, лайф-коучинг, письмо, публічні виступи, медитація та інші. Організація MAGs також відкрита до співпраці з тими, хто виявить бажання проводити такі заняття, майстер-класи тощо.
