Early morning accident on M18

THE M18 southbound carriageway is now open again following an earlier crash after Junction 11 Dromoland. A section of the motorway was closed on Thursday morning following a two car collision at approximately 6.30 am. It is understood that there are no serious injuries.

There is still currently (10am Thursday ) very heavy traffic did build up on approach on the carriageway and on surrounding routes to the motorway but these routes are improving.

The accident was attended to by the fire and ambulance services and Gardai.
