SHANNON digital marketing company Core Optimisation is taking on 13 new staff, bringing the total number of employees to 30.
Founded in 2015, it is now one of the country’s top digital transformation agencies, focusing on digital transformation strategy, search engine optimisation, paid search advertising, paid social media advertising and conversion optimisation.
Limerick man Kieran O’Brien has joined the company as its Director of Marketing and Communications.
He said that Core Optimisation is going through a period of rapid growth and it now has some remote workers.
“It has kind of exploded in the last couple of months, and there’s a need to ramp up. The majority of people would be from Clare and Limerick, but there are people working from Portugal and Spain.
One guy is working from Granada, one woman went home to Portugal when Covid came and she’s staying out there now. At the moment no one is really in the office, but when we get back it’s probably going to be blended.”
With non-essential retail closing due to the pandemic, more than ever there was a need for companies to have strong digital offerings, which led to greater demand for the kind of services offered by Core Optimisation.
“There were enterprise grants that helped people pivot to online sales. Additionally, everyone had to rethink what they were doing.
“With people not commuting, the online side (of marketing) is much more important. The need to have your digital offering up to speed was very important.”
There are different types of jobs available, and people can come in at different levels.
“There’s a mixture. There are a number of different fields within it, there’s Search Engine Optimisation, you’ve got Pay Per Click, Paid Social, you’ve got graduate roles and roles for people with a few years of experience.
“Some people might come from hospitality, they might have been in the booking side of a hotel, or they might come in at a graduate level.
Caroline Dunlea, CEO and Co-Founder, said, “The pandemic has affected every business in different ways but there is no doubt the need for brands to have a coherent, strategic and easily implementable digital strategy has been amplified over the last 15 months. At Core Optimisation, it’s all about developing a best in class group of specialists to service and advise our best in class client base.”
